taking on the advice of Phil,
I decided to play around with new photos and images, (the chains and labyrinth are from the google) apat fom the images of myself. the image effects have been made by using the fether tool and the curvs tool, the curvs tool is my favourit tools as it allows you to have more control over the effect.

A sugestion given to me, it seems that the back ground maybe too over powering, and that I put my emotion before my physical self.

    Hi Matt,

These are already much better, both in terms of composition, impact and visual clarity; however, I still think you can evolve them more; is there a way that you can more closely merge the chains image with the shadows/contours of your own image - so that the curves of the chain and the curve of your eye-socket (for instance) are blended so that your face seems to be 'formed' from the chains; at the moment, your image seems to 'hover' above the background, as opposed to appearing enmeshed amongst it; try and hybridize the images even more so...

Tomorrow at 3pm in Lecture Theatre 1, Tracy Ashmore is doing a second session on structuring arguments for academic writing and creative research; it will last an hour, giving you a bit of a breather before the life-drawing class; sorry for the short notice, but it was only confirmed at the end of last week. If you could assist me in getting word out to your classmates, I'd be very grateful. Cheers!
