The towel being thicker im finding much more easyer to sculped and getting rid of the way that it looked mirrored.

towel 2

I think the thicker towel makes it look better. though the top is abit mountainus

I calmed down the top through moving a few vertisies and toop out the middle edge to stop the ridging down the right side as u see in the first one

The towel

The towel I think is quite a secess though a few teathing issues for when it smoothes, and other parts of details again an object that is seen but not heard.

Transcription

After taking a long thought process of my transcription, I have come to a very stable idea for the project, its self, after talking to Phil and Alan and I'm really happy that it has the green light to go up on this idea.

Now to the idea.

(NOT LOOKING AT THE FILM OR MUSICLE)

Taking all elements from the book, I have decided to base the project on Oliver Twist, and creating a game inviroment design. I feel that the book has brilliant visual elements to bring out and to put into a game. The influence of the game play its self, will be based up on GTA and Mafia third person games.

The game inviroment its self will come from Victorian London and the grimy starker poorer areas of London like the poor houses and the dark cobled streets and old smuglers houses and hide aways. There would also be the large green pea smogs that come down up on London where people used to die in them due to having no oxygen in the air.

Objects so far

Acting up on johns advice about bevelling, I feel that these are much better looking, than the smoothed versions, I put up on a white blinn as at the time I wasn't sure to what sam or richard thought about them being un smoothed. The dificulty I had about bevelling was the centre hole I compensated this with more suporting geometry and trying to work out how to get rid of pentagons, I finally managed to do this after allot of thought.

BIN

I thank Simon allot with helping me with the books in giving them a better way of sculpting them, the origenal ones looked a tad too squair and not very natural.

Bottes of chemecals, a lot of objects are seen but not heard, they are there to build the scene and detail the scene alot more, and make the scenes much more natural

pull down fire button and drinks can

(I may change the colour or create a verioty of colours for this bin, I did two bin as richard advised that the other bin looked more out door style.)

I feel that the tannoy intercom system is looking nice

objects like the tin and toolbox that are going to be placed with in the closet, again low detailed
and just to set the seen for when the door opens and.

The Myst

The mist is a film that has really shook me up, I'm not afraid to say that I'm not very good with horror films at all, and am not good at jumpy elements and shocks. The film  its self ran through as being all round sadness and the ending topped it off with him killing the rest, to find out the army where just driving down the road behind him.

If this film did have a Hollywood ending, I don't think it would have had the right effect as all you needed in the end has just the tanks rolling by.

The other area that made this film real was the areas that had the camera seem as if hand held, with in the shop scene. The colour of the mist also worked making everything more desaturated.

bench 2

I had decided to create a new bench for a more veriation as the bench at the top has allot of geometry to it that may take up more time in renderring...

Locker

The locker door at first kept collapsing do to having a hole taken out the middle of them

I supported the structure with more geometry to stop it from collapsing

I still need to have ricjard to look at these to have his own opinion of the lockers.

locker room bench

This is the locker room bench once I have created all the objects the objects will then be brung into the scenes and filling the spaces.

Films review catch up

Dancer in the Dark

I'm not scared to say that this film actually did bring a tear to my eye. The film was exceptionally emotional with no upsides to the story. you know she is becoming more and more blind and as the film plays the situations get worse and worse. The dancing in the film was like her escape from the reality and the situations that she was in, shutting her self away. The biggest turning point in the film was police officer begging her to kill him, and then her being framed for murder. The film ends on a low for her singing her last song. The other area that makes this film real is like as though the camera work is hand held, and almost as if it is documentary, giving across a very real effect. The dance scenes give off a sense of freedom, and an insight to her mind, to who she really wants to be.

Mars Attacks

This film was brilliant, since from watching all the B-Movies this film is much more humorous through this aspect. It takes up all on board the B movie genre and then makes fun out of, it, I feel that this film won't ever age, even with the CG UFOs I think the film will live on even through any generation who watches it. the film was produced in 1996 and when I was young the aliens did used to frighten me.

The film took the parody of the classic B movie aliens from out of space and made it modern at the same time, through using CG and special effects. the storyline is of the aliens come from mars planning to destroy it, at earth trys to make a peace treaty, at first the aliens accept but are then frightened by a dove flying over and then unleash anger out upon the crowed. This scene is very much like the day the earth stood still. The film pokes fun at the days obsession with the way of trying to make peace, along side with the general always expressing the attempted of war. the film is also along the lines of other spoof films at the time like Austin powers, which again is a film that is an exaggerated spoof of the classic 70's and James bond spy films.

Phsycho

This film I felt wasn't too bad as after watching the original, I felt it was not as effective as the original. The original made by Hitchcock was more effective due to the black and white of the film. the black and white of the film made it more quirky and More uncanny. The later film was a re make using the exact same scenes and locations. They changed some sections and made it more explicit and by doing this, it updated the films appeal to the later audience. I feel that creating the shot for shot remake in a way was a good thing as it gave a later audience a chance to see it for them selves.I feel that the remake was successful but the older version is more creepy due to the black and white, this is due to that the black and white has more contrast is more deeper.

Shaun of the dead

Shaun of the dead is one of my favourite films, as well as being a film that is my boarder line in watching as I don't like zombie films at all, I enjoy its pure humour. The film is a pastiche due to that it is several  genres mixed together, it's a modern horror spoof mixed with a love story, it also is tongue in cheek and referential as they like to say "stop saying the Z word" as in most zombie films, with in the films they don't usually call the zombies, zombies, so this is self referencing other films and its own genre, as also the way they make the plan to get to the pub. The story its self is tongue in cheek for they way that they do small things like leaving the door open, and also the before and after effect of the film, and  they way go against all the rules in the book.

Arachnophobia

This film was a film that really shook me up, it was very very jumpy and hard to watch, though not gruesome, the film put you on edge through every step of the way. the film took you by suspense and surprise, and the notion of an insect swarming the town killing people. The main spider its self came from deep with in a forest, he killed an explorer and hid away in the guys coffin, while it was transported to america. the spider got to the farm through a crow picked it up and flue it to the farm, the spider then killed the crow in mid flight landing him in the farm and thats when story had  begun.

 TREMORS

At first I was nervious of seeing this film due to seeing a very small part of it, being when I was young with my brother and remember seeing the farmers head sticking out the ground, so this image played up om my a tad while watching it. I found the film after a while more of an action film than a horror and really stared to enjoy it mutch more.

object design

Object creation, these are objects that are placed to build the scens, they are objects to details to the scenes, so they are not purely detailed

Fire bell

Pull down fire button

Bin
this is an alloy bin than I have texture to have rust running arround it

School tannoy system

This will spacifally have an alpha channal over the from to create the grill effect with an black plane behind it

cans

Having the odd can on the side, we must also get accross that this is a school being used every day, so the averagely used item every day might be counted for. But, rememberring not make any of the scenes cluttered, so making the scenes lived in but not over the top. These objects are not going to be in the shot greately and you may question on wether they will be seen, but, also legit in away that it is in an 80's style. We don't want to be putting in items and objects that are from far later or far older than the time. Example in the film billy eliot, they use the song tiger feet from T-Rex, that is mid 70's, and then they have the miners strike that is mid to late 80's. These two world's don't mix as the youth of the 80's wouldn't have listenned to T-Rex. So keeping to the timezone you are basing it on is key in the film.

SO even when things come down to object design, it is best to keep it with in the time zone you are basing it in.
