SKY RIG REBELLION ANIMATION

It has been a long day but has finally finished the Sky Rig Rebellion editing. I had a long worrying day Friday but now it is all under control

These are my final disc and DVD cover designs.

I would like to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this project.

smoke and day

Today has been an interresting day in creating smoke from the engines, and learning about the maya sun, I feel that now I am very very close to renderring.

pre-vis with the proper ending

The last video I posted seemed to not have the ending black out. I first blamed it on youtube, but it seemed due to the way it had exported from premier, so to fix this, I added a very quick fade in to black, to tell it to go to black at that point. I hope you like the new ending, the way it was meant to be.

Sky Rig Rebellion, Fighter Bomber scene

I cant wait to start rendering soon, this is my latest previs, this final look of the scene is complete, I will add in the sky and the smoke from the engines, I also need to create the traser fire.

sky rig rebelion previz with music

This is a previs along with the music, I will now combine shots with the music.

The latest previz from Sky Rig Rebellion

this is my latest previz, establishing shots, and edits.

sky rig rebellion, fighter diving toward the turret

Today has been an interresting day animating the aircraft and tweaking the gun turret. This is pre viz of today.

Sky Rig Rebellion camera shots.

This is a few camera shots I have put together (P1-2) means Part so you are able to comment on each shot individualy.

This pre-viz is showing what kind of shots I am going for and have set up at the moment.

Tweeks and details

This weekend has been an interesting one, I decided to take note of what Phil said about the turrets an now I feel that these look much more nicer. While I was at it, I decided to add in a few extra details such as the cockpit, that now has a control panel and a sight block. I also to add extra details on the guns them selves. I have also animated the props turning, and am getting ready for my first set up.

Sky Rig Rebellion comes to life

I created this just for a bit of fun, the back drop is just photoshopped, I feel that this brings everything to life.

scale of the aircraft and music theme ideas (feed back please!)

This is a size comparison of the scale between the bomber and the fighter, its quite exciting to see them both in the same scene, and am now going to be working on a small previs of what could be the final scene.

These are 3 songs I have chosen from incompetech.com to go along with the final piece. I am undecided on what tune to go for and would like some feedback.

This is my main influence of song choice for the final piece from the film Memphis Belle.

ARP, Bomber, nearly complete

Flight checks are almost complete for the bomber, it has been quite an eventful few days texturing this bomber.
Slowly creating the panel lines and then launching into the texturing iin which has been quite a fun process.

ambient occlusion and fighter details

Today has been a long day trying to sort out and tidying up ambient occlusion, I have a strange line running down the centre of the bomber, I thought I has tidied up the line as I could not see it on the main view. Since I have rendered it, it has returned.

I have also brightened up the fighters textures,  I am now hoping that you are able to see the fighter aircraft more clearly.

You will also notice the addition of the roundel and the colour change to the nose and piping to the fighter compered to the previous posts

Sky Rig Rebelion Fighter wing and body details

The fighter is now on its way to completion. I have now taken the advice of Phil, and beat the plane up, by adding the nick in the tale, and few more battle weary, details.

Here I also add a brighter version of the page above, so you can see elements more clearly.

Wing textures

Taking on phils advice from yesterday. I decided to texture and roughen up the wings.

Here are a selection of textures I have chosen.

Meanwhile I have found a brilliant texture website called lostandtaken.com

Sky Rig Rebellion Fighter, coloured

My fighter now has colour. Today I have spent texturing and colouring, my Sky Rig Rebellion Fighter. I feel that it is very close to its maiden finish, as you may also see, I have added in the tendril pod, also named here as 'Flaming Betty'.

Here is a more lightened version of the page as the one above may seem a bit dark.

Sky Rig Rebellion fighter logo and roudel designs

page 1

Today I feel I've finaly propperly cracked the logo design. After talking with phil, I really like the grittyness of the new logos, and the way they look like a ruffly painted stencil.

page 2

Here I would like some opinions on what people think of what one of these logos look best.

page 3
I have also brought forward one of the logos along with the text

Big UPDATE

Both aircraft are all ready to be textured, and all ready to go, as you can see they are all UV'd, the fighter has guns to it now, along with the front detail.

These are both the UV lay outs

today I carried on the making of document

Sky Rig Rebellion Bomber UV'ing Begins!

Finally UV'ing and planer maping the bomber beggins, yesterday I started off with the wings

Today I figured out the body, origenaly the mid section of the body looked distorted and worped, the mid detail popping out was hard to figure out, with Toms help we finally got the body looking nice, it helped the process by extracting the wings are other elements from the main fusalage, planer mapping the serface and then with in the UV editer inwrapping.Origenally I was going over the airecraft and UV'ing certan sections. There is a lot more to do like the back tale section.

Infull this is the whole list of things to still UV:
  • Armour plated back
  • Wing struts
  • Engine/engine details
  • Nose cones
  • Proppellars
  • Exhaust pipes
After this, I will then get on with laying out the UV's neatly in the UV editor

opinions please (emblem designs)

Yesterday I went through and smoothed and hardenned the normals of the aircraft.

I also went through developping roundels for the aircraft, roundels are patterns that are on the side of aircraft for other aircraft to recongnise what side they are on. Page 1, are a group of designs with rings around them, XRRS or XRS, means 10th Rig Squadron, or 10th Rig Rebellion Squadron.

Page 2 I decided to drop the ring all together and have just the emblem. From 4 to 9 I decided to desaturate and change the hue and saturation, to create more other styles. The reason why the design is like a drop of water, is because these used to be old rig workers, that are now fighting back against the evil corporate company.

Page 3 is representing, the enemy roundels, the ARP, stands for Aqua Rig Purifications, I wanted it feel corporate and deceiving, as if trying to fool you that they are the good guys when they are not. I changed it from idea 1 to 3, as idea 1 didnt seem very strong as the coloures are too freindly and they dont hit out at you as much. Idea 3 I feel is more menecing, yet still very smart. On 4 I changed the P to a D, meaning defence instead of purifications, meaning Aqua Rig Defence, I'm still 50/50 in using this as I thought it would be good on the aircraft, as they are defending the main rigs from the pirates, but then this then splits it from the main company its self so I feel it is mutch more better to keep with ARP.

so feel free to post your opinions
